Solutions
Fit out your home with an interconnected photoelectric alarm system.
If one alarm detects smoke, the whole system will ring, making it easier to get to safety sooner.
Every system we install includes a remote control for easy management – locate the detecting alarm or silence stray alarms with a button push.
An annual service keeps your alarm system working and helps stop frustrating false positives.
We’ll test your alarms’ connections and batteries, clean their detection chambers, and submit a report that details any technical issues or compliance failures.

Questions
You can expect to pay around $150 per hardwired smoke alarm. To comply with legal requirements, you’ll need to have at least:
That means all residential properties need, at minimum, 2 alarms.
Yes, we do. We charge $195 for a call-out and the first 30 minutes on site.
Yes, you can install your own battery-powered smoke alarms, as long as they meet the placement requirements of s 12 of the Building Regulation 2021 (Cth) and the technical requirements of AS 3786:2014.
Keep in mind that hardwired smoke alarms can only be installed by a licenced electrician. Unlicensed electrical work is illegal and extremely dangerous (both for you and anyone else in the home).
Yes, we do. We hold a $20 million public liability policy. We’re happy to supply proof of insurance upon request.
Ionisation alarms are an older kind of smoke detector. Their detection mechanism involves 2 small metal plates and a tiny piece of radioactive material. The radioactive material electrically charges the air between the plates. When a particle – like smoke, water vapour, or dust – passes through that air, it carries away ions, which reduces the current between the plates and triggers the alarm.
Photoelectric smoke alarms have a similar detection chamber. Instead of metal plates, though, the chamber has an LED at one end and a photoelectric cell on the wall of the chamber. When particles enter, they scatter the light from the LED, throwing it onto the cell and tripping the alarm.
Ionisation alarms tend to be faster at detecting fast-burning fires; photoelectric alarms are better at detecting smouldering ones. Queensland legislation requires that your home’s alarms be photoelectric.
If you’re deaf or hard of hearing, we can install specialised smoke alarms that include tactile and visual alerts. Most accessible alarm systems include strobe lights and an under-pillow vibration pad.
Keep in mind that, if you live in Queensland, you may be eligible for the Deaf Connect Smoke Alarm Subsidy Scheme, which supplies a $400 hearing impaired smoke alarm for just $50.
