Split systems are the go-to solution for Mooloolaba apartments, townhouses and smaller homes. One indoor head unit pairs with an outdoor compressor to cool a single room – no ductwork needed, minimal disruption during install.
We fit Daikin and Fujitsu split systems built for the coastal conditions Mooloolaba is known for – high humidity, salt air and long stretches of summer heat.
Ducted air conditioning lets you cool your entire Mooloolaba home from one hidden unit. With zone controls, you decide which rooms run and which stay off – perfect for keeping energy bills in check.
Our team designs each ducted layout around your property’s floorplan, ensuring even airflow across bedrooms, living areas and any space in between.
Cassette units mount flush with the ceiling and push conditioned air outward in four directions. They’re an excellent fit for Mooloolaba’s open-plan apartments, restaurant dining rooms and retail shopfronts along The Wharf precinct.
Discreet and powerful, a cassette system delivers consistent temperatures across wide spaces without wall-mounted heads taking up room.
Mooloolaba’s restaurants, surf shops, holiday accommodation and medical practices all depend on reliable climate control. We design commercial systems that keep guests, staff and customers comfortable through the hottest months.
Whether you need a VRV/VRF multi-system or a full ducted fit-out, we manage the entire process – from initial design and supply through to installation and final commissioning.
I rang to get a quote for new ducted air conditioning at my home. From first contact the friendly team were great to deal with.
Kiel is very knowledgable regarding brands and capacity needed. He was able to answer all my questions and help me decide.
My new air conditioner was installed within three weeks! I am so happy with the product.
The team installing the air conditioner were very respectful & professional and even took their boots off while walking through my house (this is a first for any tradies) The floor was left very clean and all rubbish removed.
10/10 for the team at Deep Blue Air Conditioning !!

Deep Blue Air Conditioning has been serving Sunshine Coast residents and businesses since 2013, building a reputation for quality workmanship and honest advice.
Our team works from our Baringa office at 26 Hancock Way – only a short trip down to Mooloolaba, so we can be on-site quickly when you need us.
Services
Living near the beach means your air conditioner works harder. Salt-laden air, high humidity and fine sand can all accelerate wear on filters, coils and moving parts.
Routine servicing catches these issues before they escalate. We clean filters, inspect refrigerant levels, check electrical connections and clear drainage lines – everything needed to keep your system running efficiently.
A well-maintained unit cools better, uses less power and lasts significantly longer. Whether you have a single split system or a whole-home ducted setup, regular maintenance is the smartest investment you can make.
Get ahead of problems – book a service today or ask about a recurring maintenance plan for your Mooloolaba property.
Services
When your air conditioning stops working in the middle of a Mooloolaba summer, you need it sorted fast. Coastal conditions – the humidity, the salt air, the constant demand – can push even quality units to their limits over time.
Faulty capacitors, refrigerant leaks and worn fan motors are common culprits, but whatever the issue, our team will diagnose and resolve it quickly.
If your Mooloolaba home or business feels warmer than it should, don’t wait for the problem to get worse. Call us and we’ll have your system back up and running.
Brent and Nick did a first class job in servicing our ducted air conditioning system and were far more thorough than others we have had.
This included getting the buttons in each individual room operating for the first time since we have been in the house.

Questions
Pricing varies based on the type of system and the specifics of your property. For a standard 2.5-kilowatt split-system with a back-to-back installation at a Mooloolaba home, expect to pay roughly $2,000 to $2,500 including supply and fitting.
The unit itself typically accounts for about half of that total. (Be wary of heavily discounted installs — they often come with lower-grade equipment. We only supply premium brands like Daikin and Fujitsu.)
The remaining cost covers labour, which generally breaks down into:
The remaining cost is labour, which typically includes:
Many air conditioning models require a dedicated electrical circuit to maintain their warranty, so the electrician may need to run a new circuit if one isn’t already available.
Your air conditioning installer needs 2 kinds of licences: a refrigerant handling licence and an electrical licence.
The minimum class of refrigerant licence they’ll need is RSS03, which qualified them to install any single-head split-system air conditioner of under 18 kilowatts. (Keep in mind that, under ARC’s rules, most ducted air conditioning is technically ‘split-system’, in that there’s a central internal unit and an external unit. You can check an individual’s refrigerant licensing here.
They’ll also need an unrestricted electrical licence. You can check the licensing of an individual or company in Queensland here.
The ‘$5,000 rule’ is a heuristic you can use to estimate whether it’s better to repair or replace your air conditioning. If your air con has a problem, multiply the quoted cost of the repairs by the age in years of your system. If the resulting figure is over $5,000, a full replacement might be more cost-effective.
For example, if your air con is 10 years old and the cost of a repair is $550, the total would be $5,500. Under the rule, you’d be better off replacing your air con than repairing it.
With that said: there are so many exceptions to the $5,000 rule that it’s basically worthless. Instead, think about:
Most quality air conditioning systems are built to last 10 to 15 years. Regular servicing plays a big role in reaching that lifespan – especially in a coastal suburb like Mooloolaba, where salt air, high humidity and heavy summer use all put additional strain on your equipment.
