I rang to get a quote for new ducted air conditioning at my home. From first contact the friendly team were great to deal with.
Kiel is very knowledgable regarding brands and capacity needed. He was able to answer all my questions and help me decide.
My new air conditioner was installed within three weeks! I am so happy with the product.
The team installing the air conditioner were very respectful & professional and even took their boots off while walking through my house (this is a first for any tradies) The floor was left very clean and all rubbish removed.
10/10 for the team at Deep Blue Air Conditioning !!

Products
Most homes and businesses in Coolum Beach aren’t comfortable over summer.
At least, not without high-quality air conditioning.
Coolum’s seaside position means higher humidity than other parts of the Sunshine Coast – as well as more salt corrosion risk for outdoor units.
When we install split-system air conditioning at your property, we’ll recommend a Blue Fin treatment for your coils to help prevent atmospheric corrosion.
That means air conditioning that runs better, for longer, all year round.
Products
Without good system design, ducted air conditioning can struggle in Coolum Beach.
You can burn power on cooling rooms that don’t need it, for example, or end up with condensation in your roof cavity from poorly placed ducts.
We know what works, because we’ve installing brands like Fujitsu and Daikin in Coolum Beach homes and businesses since 2013.
It’s why we’ll recommend options like AirTouch for zone control – and ducting with an R1.5 rating for less thermal leakage.
Get in touch with us to find out more about our ducted air con options.
Brent and Nick did a first class job in servicing our ducted air conditioning system and were far more thorough than others we have had.
This included getting the buttons in each individual room operating for the first time since we have been in the house.

Questions
The easiest way to calculate the right air conditioner size for your space: call a Coolum Beach air con installer like us. We’ll visit your property, take the measurements we need to calculate it, then give you pricing for different unit options.
If you’d prefer to calculate your unit size yourself, use the FairAir cooling load calculator. It does ask for a lot of information, but getting those details right matters if you want to properly match your air conditioner to your space.
(Remember: bigger isn’t always better. If an air con is oversized, it will cool your space too quickly and short-cycle, which leads to higher energy costs, poorer humidity control, and long-term compressor issues.)
Residential air conditioners in Coolum Beach should be serviced once a year at minimum. Oceanside properties and businesses should aim for 6-monthly services. Sea air tends to cause corrosion and filter blockages faster than inland atmospheres, and most commercial premises have higher cooling loads than residential properties.
The Refrigerant Handling Code of Practice is a 2-part code that applies to any air conditioning installer registered with ARC. It covers things like:
Because we handle refrigerant directly (rather than working with self-contained systems like fridges), we’re required to comply with pt 2 of the Code, which covers systems other than self-contained low-charge systems.
An ozone-friendly refrigerant is any refrigerant that doesn’t negatively affect the Earth’s ozone layer. Most older refrigerants, such as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), release gases that either break down the ozone layer or trap heat extremely effectively.
For example, ‘one kilogram of refrigerant R410a (has the same greenhouse impact as 2 tonnes of carbon dioxide, which is the equivalent of driving your car for 10,000 kilometres’. R410a is an HFC – one of the most widely used refrigerants in the air conditioning industry.
Ultimately, the refrigerant an air conditioner uses is specified by the manufacturer. The only thing we, as installers, can control are the brands and models we choose to supply. That’s why the vast majority of systems we sell run on R32, a highly efficient HFC with zero ozone depletion potential and around 67% global warming potential than R410A. It’s also more efficient, running on a 30% smaller charge, and won’t degrade if your system ever leaks.
