The installation team knew exactly what they were doing and carried out an efficient, clean job. The system worked flawlessly from the outset, and they spent time showing us how to use it.
We’ve just had our 2nd annual maintenance visit, and that team was extremely thorough and identified a couple of issues which they investigated in detail and fixed. We’ll diagnose and fix any ducted air conditioner that isn’t working as well as it should – and, as authorised agents for Daikin and General Australia (Fujitsu), our work won’t affect your manufacturer’s warranty.
A dirty filter can mean that your air conditioner struggles to re-condition air inside your home. We’ll clean the filter, then confirm nothing else is affecting air flow.

Installing new air conditioning isn’t always as simple as swapping out your existing ducted or split system.
If your building was constructed before 2023, it’s quite possible that your switchboard has type AC RCDs, which are now banned nationally.
That means your air conditioning installer will need to organise a separate quote from a sparkie who offers switchboard replacements – which they’ll also need to do if your current switchboard doesn’t have enough capacity.
(Big ducted systems can sometimes require 3-phase power, which isn’t standard in Sunshine Coast homes.)

Overall, ducted air conditioning is one of the best ways to cool large spaces and buildings with multiple rooms. It does, though, have some negatives – like its higher upfront cost and worse energy efficiency.
Ducted air conditioners work by transferring conditioned air from a central unit through piping in your ceiling or floor cavity. That means your air conditioning installer needs to spend a fair amount of time running ducting through confined spaces, as well as installing the central indoor unit, the outdoor unit, and the vents in each room. That, combined with the fact that ducted air conditioners are more expensive, means a noticeably higher installation cost.
Ducted air conditioners also lose more energy than split systems. Some of that energy is wasted on heating or cooling the actual ducting. In many Sunshine Coast buildings, that energy loss increases over summer – the sun heats up the ceiling cavity through which the ducting runs, and your air con has to fight to keep the pipes cool. Ducted systems also have separate intake and supply vents. That means they can struggle to work efficiently if you aren’t cooling the intake zone – or if your house has lots of air leakage.
